~ Fabyan Japanese Garden: Winter Walks

Saturday, January 18th and Friday, January 31st ~ 1p.m.

The Winter Walk is a tour that includes history of the Fabyan Japanese Garden along with facts about Japanese gardens in all seasons! A donation of $2 per person is requested. As snow-covered ground is necessary for the tour, please call day of to confirm tour status. The tour begins at the west garden gate at 1pm. ~ Durant House Museum: Fireside Fun

Saturday, February 15th and 16th ~ 1p.m.

Take a step or two back in time from 1:00 to 4:00p.m., Saturday & Sunday Feb 15th & 16th as the Durant House Museum hosts Fireside Fun. No registration is needed. Admission to the Durant House is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old. The museum will provide a glimpse of what winter life was like in an 1843 homestead. Authentically costumed docents will invite guest to the hearth’s warm glow, have fun with some parlor pastimes and enjoy pioneer hospitality. Visitors can also tour the Pioneer Sholes School just steps away as well on Sunday, February 16th. The Durant House museum is located in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean Street, about a mile west of Randall Rd. in St. Charles. For more information please call 630-377-6424 or email.
