Step back and time and enjoy the sights, tastes, and smells of the holidays in 19th-century Illinois.

This is the only time of the year when the museum is open after dark and lit entirely by candlelight! Enjoy holiday music, the smell of fresh-cut evergreens, the crackle of fire, and the flicker of candlelight as you stroll through the historic Durant House Museum. Outside the house, warm yourself by a bonfire and enjoy hot cider and light snacks.

Then, head over to Sholes School, an 1872 one-room schoolhouse for a lesson and hands-on activities.

Entry to this event will be timed at 1/2-hour intervals, but you can stay as long as you like!
