Join Preservation Partners and the St. Charles Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the opening of the newly-restored Polly and Walker Bowman Memorial Garden at the William Beith House!

By 2023, this garden, originally dedicated in 1987 in memory of Polly Bowman, had been looking rough. Warren Bowman, son of Polly, stepped forward with the hope of rehabilitating it in memory of his father, Walker, who had recently passed away. After many months of planning and hard work removing plants and cleaning up the garden, the first new plants went in in October of 2025. Then, in the spring, the remainder of the plants were planted, and the garden was complete! We are grateful to Warren for starting this project, and to the Pottawatomie Garden Club for sharing so many of their skilled volunteers with us.
