Wedding ceremony at the 1872 Sholes School

The 1872 Sholes School Museum is the perfect spot for an affordable and beautiful wedding. Nestled in the eastern edge of the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles, the school is like a trip back in time when weddings were sometimes held at schoolhouses. With natural prairie lands surrounding the fenced-in school yard, Sholes School is a picturesque place to tie the knot.

Starting at $150, we offer:

  • A unique venue with a historical twist

  • 90 minutes of access to the museum and surrounding yard

  • Heat and air-conditioning in the museum

  • Seating for approximately 20 people in student-sized chairs inside the museum

  • Room for up to 100 outside the museum (chairs not included)

If you are looking for an affordable, unique setting for your small wedding, contact us today!

The Sholes School Museum is operated by Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley through a contractual agreement with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.
